AI thinking canvases
Thinking branches: one idea splits into a few, you follow one, double back, and split again. That is what a mind map is, and it is why people have used it to work through ideas for decades. mindmap.io builds the AI into the map. Most of the tools here do the opposite, starting from an AI chat and adding a canvas around it. That difference is what makes the harder things work. Because the AI works on the map itself, it can fold any node down to a keyword so a hundred-branch map stays readable, take a branch and expand it by asking and answering its own follow-up questions, and answer a question about the whole map with a link to the node it came from. You drive all of it from the keyboard, so it keeps pace with you. A chat with a canvas added on cannot do these as well, because its AI sits beside your thinking instead of inside it. AI mind map generators
