Claude can now build your maps

mindmap.io is now a connector you add in Claude by URL. Open Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, paste https://mindmap.io/mcp, sign in, and approve. There is nothing to download and no file to edit. Claude Free, Pro and Max can all add a connector by URL, so this needs no Team plan.

Approving offers two choices. Read only lets Claude read your maps and nodes and nothing else, and a read-only connection is never shown the tools that write, so it cannot reach for one by mistake. Full access adds creating and deleting maps, publishing a map to a public URL, and asking questions inside a map. Full access is the default, and you can disconnect from Claude’s connectors list whenever you want.

Connected, Claude can read the maps you already have, build new ones, ask a question inside a map and read the answer back into your conversation, fan a branch out into follow-up questions, and publish a finished map as a link. Those answers cost the same credits as asking in the app and draw on the same balance, not a second one. Add the connector on the web or in the desktop app, where the three steps are identical. Installing one on iOS and Android is still a beta, so set it up on a computer and it is waiting on your phone the next time you open Claude there.

In Claude Code, claude mcp add --transport http mindmapio https://mindmap.io/mcp sets up the same connection, and the personal access token route still works for clients that cannot sign in through a browser. Open mindmap.io to see what Claude leaves you.
